Thanks for a GREAT conference! See you in 2024!!
The Mission of the Georgia Council for the Social Studies is to advocate for, support, and celebrate the advancement of quality social studies teaching for Georgia students.

The Vision of the Georgia Council for the Social Studies is to prepare students to be knowledgeable, effective decision makers and engaged citizens in a globally interdependent world.

Funding has been provided by Georgia Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the American Rescue Act of 2021.

Keeping up with what is going on in the world of social studies is very important.  Nothing replaces the excitement of interacting with fellow social studies teachers with similar interests, but the next best thing is membership in the Georgia Council for the Social Studies (GCSS), your state social studies professional organization.

For only $40 per year (retired educator $20 and student/pre-service teacher $10) you will receive a monthly newsletter with resources and opportunities for students and teachers.

For more information regarding the membership process, contact GCSS Executive Director, Dr. Rhonda Webb via email at :
